Podcasting Defined Streaming media enabled you to listen to your favorite Christian programs whenever you wanted. Now you can also listen wherever you want on your iPod with what is called podcasting. A podcast is much like an audio magazine subscription: you receive regular audio programs automatically delivered via the internet, and you then can listen to them at your convenience on your iPod. No longer do you need to be at your computer to listen. Not all of the programs available at ChristianTuner are available as podcasts. Each webcaster must make their program available in MP3 format. All podcasts listed at ChristianTuner are free. How To Listen First, you'll need a portable MP3 player such as Apple's iPod, but any portable device that will play MP3 files will work. Second, you'll need a podcast receiver. A podcast receiver is a program that automatically downloads the audio files for you. The most common one is iPodder. You can download it from here. Third, you need to subscribe to a podcast. To do that, right click on the orange XML button and select 'copy shortcut' (Internet Explorer) or 'copy link location' (Firefox). Then open iPodder and select the Subscriptions tab. Click on the green plus icon to add new feed. Right click on the URL field and select paste, then Save. The program is then added to your list of subscriptions. Every day, the iPodder software will then check for new podcasts, grab the new ones and download them to your computer. Sync your iPod to get the podcasts on your iPod.
